Diciamola tutta: se non foste a conoscenza della storia e delle gesta della Factory Records, probabilmente non sareste neppure lettori di Vinyl, né collezionereste le uscite delle collane su vinile di De Agostini. Quindi converrete con noi che la notizia di non uno, ma ben due box set dedicati alla leggendaria label mancuniana è decisamente ghiotta.

Questi i dati fondamentali: fra ottobre e novembre 2019, per celebrare i 40 anni della Factory, saranno commercializzati due box (con dischi in vinile) intitolati Use Hearing Protection: Factory Records 1978-1979 e Factory: Communications 1978-1992. Saranno disponibili rispettivamente l’11 ottobre e l’8 novembre su etichetta Rhino.

Il primo box (limitato a 4.000 esemplari al mondo) contiene riproduzioni fedeli delle prime 10 uscite targate Factory e un libro di 60 pagine con foto di Kevin Cummins e interviste a Tony Wilson, Rob Gretton, Joy Division e altri. Il secondo cofanetto traccia l’arco dei 15 anni di attività dell’etichetta grazie a una selezione di 63 tracce spalmate su otto LP (vinile colore argento).
