E’ in arrivo – il prossimo 8 novembre, su label Craft Recordings – un bel box per i fan del leggendario Miles Davis.
Si tratta del cofanetto intitolato The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions che presenta, per la prima volta su vinile e raccolti insieme, i sei album originariamente pubblicati in box su CD nel 2006. Il materiale incluso comprende tutte le session che Miles Davis e il suo Quintetto registrarono per la Prestige fra il 1955 e il 1956.
Da quelle sedute in studio scaturirono gli album Miles: The New Miles Davis Quintet (1956), Cookin’ (1957), Relaxin’ (1958), Workin’ (1959) e Steamin’ (1961). Tutti i nclusi nel cofanetto, con l’aggiunta di un sesto LP con session incise in studi televisivi.
I dischi sono tutti su vinile da 180 grammi e accompagnati da un libro di 20 con foto e un testo dello storico del jazz Bob Blumenthal.
